March Highlights: room selection for the 2024–2025 academic year and important reminders for graduating students.

Note that room selection for the 2024–2025 academic year is open after Spring Break, beginning March 11.
Please note that the room selection process for next year occurs after Spring Break. Your student account must be up to date to participate. Please check your balance on the MyBill option in the Portal and ensure your account is resolved. Contact the Office of Student Services with any questions or concerns.

Note the Easter Break dates.
No classes will be held from Thursday, March 28 until Sunday, March 31. Classes will resume Monday, April 1 at 4 p.m.

Note that, on March 1, all "I" (Incomplete) grades from the fall 2023 semester will change automatically to "F" (Failure).
Please contact your faculty member to resolve this issue prior to March 1. If you have additional questions, please visit your Academic Dean's office.
Save the date for the Commencement Fair (graduating students).
The Boston College Bookstore will be holding a Commencement Fair on March 13 and 14 in McElroy Commons for all students participating in the May 2024 Commencement ceremony. Students will be able to order their cap and gown, class ring, personalized announcements, and more. If you have any questions, please call 617-552-4923 or email Chris Bergin at berginch@dctdsj.com.
Run a degree audit at oqy.dctdsj.com/myservices (graduating seniors).
Look for the following message: "ALL REQUIREMENTS COMPLETED --- IN-PROGRESS COURSES USED." If a student does not receive this message, he/she will not meet the requirements for graduation and will not receive a degree. Please reach out to the appropriate academic contact (MCAS — Karen Livingston; CSOM, CSON, and LSEHD — Jenna Burke) or your advisor or Academic Dean immediately to resolve any graduation clearance issue.
Complete your Student Loan Exit Interview (graduating students).
Students graduating in May who have borrowed a Federal Stafford or a Federal GradPlus loan should complete an online exit interview at the studentaid.gov website.
Students who have borrowed a Federal Perkins loan, BC Law Loan, or BC Federal Nursing Loan will need to complete their exit interview at the Heartland ECSI website. You will receive an e-mail from ECSI with instructions.

Save the date for the Student Loan Information Session.
The Student Loan staff from the Office of Student Services invites all upcoming graduates to attend an informational presentation on student loan repayment on Monday, March 25 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Devlin Hall 110.
Covered Topics: Need-to-know facts and the Do's and Don'ts of student loan repayment.
Student loan counseling is available to all students who have questions on how to navigate loan repayment options. Please contact borrower@dctdsj.com to set up an appointment.
Note the returning undergraduate financial aid application deadline.
The 24–25 Boston College Financial Aid Application will be available later this month. We will send communication upon its launch. All 24-25 financial aid documents should be uploaded to the upload website at oqy.dctdsj.com/finaidupload. The financial aid priority filing date has been extended to April 1st to accommodate submission delays. Please visit oqy.dctdsj.com/applyforaid for more information on document requirements.
Returning Undergraduate Financial aid award notifications will be released in late June.
2024–2025 FAFSA Simplification.
The 2024-2025 FAFSA form became available in late December. As a part of the launch of a brand new application, the site will be unavailable periodically for maintenance. We strongly suggest that families wait until later in January/February to attempt completing the FAFSA.
Due to the passing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Simplification Act on December 27, 2020, as a part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, the FAFSA is changing for the 2024–2025 aid year.
You can expect the following changes:
- The 2024–2025 FAFSA will not be available until December 2023.
- The 2024–2025 FAFSA determines your financial aid eligibility for the fall 2024, spring 2025, and summer 2025 terms.
- New terminology will be added to the FAFSA.
- Eligibility for federal financial aid will be expanded.

Graduate and Law students, note the start of the 2024–2025 financial aid application process.
Graduate and Law students, the 2024–2025 FAFSA is now available at studentaid.gov.
The 2024–2025 Boston College Grad and Law Enrollment form and Supplemental form will be available later this spring, and the 2024–2025 financial aid document upload website will also be unavailable until that time.
Please do not upload documents to the 2023–2024 financial aid file. For additional information see our website: dctdsj.com/gradaid.
Still haven't received your 1098-T form yet?
1098-T forms were mailed to students' home addresses on file. If you did not receive your 1098-T, or if you need another copy, you can access your form on the web at http://heartland.ecsi.net. For more information, visit the Billing page.
Are you an incoming, returning, or transfer student?
Complete the steps outlined in the following checklists:
Note the withdrawal deadline.
The last day to withdraw from a course or the University is April 16.
Sign up for direct deposit.
As a graduating student, any unused meal credits over $5 will be refunded to your student account after commencement. These amounts or any other payments being credited to your account may leave you with a refundable balance on your BC account at the end of the school year.
The easiest and fastest way for Student Services to refund any credit balance to you is via direct deposit. We encourage you to sign up for direct deposit so that we are able to refund any credit balance to you quickly.

Looking for a job?
The Summer 2024 job opportunities will be available on the Student Employment Job Listings page beginning in April. The BC Career Center offers plenty of resources as well as tips on writing great resumes and cover letters when applying for student jobs. The current 2023–2024 Academic Year job listings will remain open until May 19, 2024. For students who have secured an on-campus job for the first time, please be sure to bring forms of identification (such as but not limited to, a valid/unexpired U.S. Passport, or a combination of a valid driver’s license or Eagle ID card and Social Security card or birth certificate) in original formats. No pictures or photocopies will be accepted. A full list of acceptable documents for Form I-9 completion can be found on the USCIS website. International F-1 students will need to bring in their valid Foreign Passport along with their Forms I-94 and I-20 and Employment Authorization Letter from the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS).

Ongoing Reminders
Sign a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (if applicable).

Complete Title IV Authorization (if applicable).
Federal regulations require that Title IV funds credited to your student account be applied only to cover allowable charges, unless Boston College obtains authorization to apply these funds to all other charges on your student account. You may submit your authorization electronically at oqy.dctdsj.com/myservices. For more information, visit the Billing page.
Complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling (if applicable).

Enroll in direct deposit for student account refunds (if applicable).
We recommend that all students use direct deposit when requesting refunds. Refunds processed via direct deposit are faster and do not require pickup. Visit the Billing page for instructions and more information.
